Search and Record Page Usability Improved

Azrested refined the search experience, record cards, county links, and review guidance so the main public tasks are easier to recognize across desktop and mobile screens. The work focused on clearer choices and more readable information rather than adding complexity to the search process.

Starting with the right action

The homepage now gives three direct starting points: browse a county, search for one record, or review a page that appears wrong. Each title is an active link, so visitors do not have to search inside the card for the next step.

The supporting copy explains when each route is useful. This matters because searching statewide, browsing geographically, and reporting a page problem are related tasks but they are not interchangeable.

Search and record cards

Search fields and calls to action were arranged to keep names and county selection easy to scan. Result cards emphasize the identity and record clues needed to decide whether a page may be relevant, followed by a direct link to the full record.

  • labels remain close to the information they describe;
  • card text wraps naturally instead of being compressed into narrow columns;
  • primary actions use consistent wording and color; and
  • supporting warnings remain visible without overwhelming the result itself.

County cards on smaller screens

County names, record counts, recent dates, and action links now have clearer spacing and wrapping behavior. The desktop grid preserves separation between counties, while the mobile layout stacks the same information without squeezing descriptive text into malformed lines.

Designed for scanning

The updated hierarchy makes the destination, supporting detail, and action visually distinct, whether a visitor is using a wide monitor or a narrow phone screen.

Review guidance where it is needed

Record pages and help sections continue to distinguish an Azrested review from an official-record correction. A visitor who believes a page is wrong can reach the review form, while anyone checking custody or case status is directed to the appropriate jail, court, clerk, or agency.

Using the improved paths

Open Browse Arrests for a name-based search, visit Counties for a location-first view, or use Report a Record Problem when an exact Azrested page needs review. The interface is intended to shorten the path to each task while keeping verification guidance close at hand.
